We embrace the concept of sustainability as a pillar of our corporate identity. As a member of the Fung Group, we support the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which cover human rights, labour standards, anti-corruption efforts, environmental protection and sustainability. We take great care to incorporate these principles into our corporate strategies and daily business activities.
There is a Corporate Social Responsibility ("CSR") Policy in place, and it shows our commitment to building a sustainable development platform by reducing the impact of our business activities on the environment, promoting charitable volunteering and community development, respecting human rights and complying strictly with all laws and regulations related to corporate governance.
Our CSR Steering Committee, which is led by the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, oversees CSR-related policies, initiatives and performance. The Steering Committee supervises a Working Committee that comprises four teams, namely the Environment Team, the Social Team, the Training and Workplace Safety Team, as well as the Food Safety and Supply Team. Each team comprises employees from different business units to spearhead various corporate initiatives throughout the organisation. The establishment of four working teams highlights our commitments and dedications towards environmental protection, social contribution, supply chain management and product responsibility.
We constantly engage with our stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders, in CSR matters via various channels such as meetings, workshops, training seminars and corporate website. The abovementioned four aspects, i.e. environmental protection, social contribution, supply chain management and product responsibility, are our priorities after management evaluation.
